transportation
Coming to Venice from Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto Island? You can take a public boat (vaporetto) of the ACTV: lines n° 1 or n° 82 have several stops in the Grand Canal, and they stop at Lido. A private taxi-boat will be faster but much more expensive.
Coming from Marco Polo airport? No use to rent a car if you are just staying in Venice. Better take a taxi or a bus. To reach Venice by water, you have two choices: water bus or a private water taxi.
- ACTV city bus n° 5: ticket 0,77 euro (about 25 minutes trip; departing every 30 minutes)
- ATVO shuttle bus: 2,58 euro (about 15 minutes trip; departing every 40 minutes)
- Taxi (to Piazzale Roma): about 21/24 euro
- Alilaguna ACTV/Coop. San Marco water bus: ticket 8,78 euro (1 hour and 10 minutes trip)
- Private water-taxi to the city centre 72,30 euro.
